Skiing in Bohinj
Winter in Bohinj brings natural snow, peaceful alpine landscapes and wide views of the Julian Alps. The closest ski areas are Vogel and Soriška Planina, while cross-country trails run through the valley and on Pokljuka. Privillage Stare – B&B, Villa and Chalet Resort is located by lake Bohinj in Ukanc, close to the Vogel cable car.

The Vogel ski resort offers a special mountain atmosphere and exceptional views over the lake and surrounding peaks. The slopes are suitable for all skill levels — from beginners to advanced skiers. Visitors can enjoy sunshine, panoramic views and well-prepared pistes. Experienced skiers also appreciate the spectacular off-piste opportunities. A snowboard park, children’s park, ski school, and ski rental are available.
The ski season typically lasts from December to early April. Due to its position in the mountain range closest to the Adriatic Sea, Vogel often receives more natural snow than areas of similar altitude elsewhere in the Julian Alps.
Vogel Ski Resort is accessible by a cable car, only 5 min (700 m) from Privillage Stare.
SoriŠka planina
Soriška Planina is smaller, with calm, easy-to-navigate runs. It’s an excellent choice for families, beginners and anyone who enjoys relaxed days on the snow.
Cross-country skiing: Bohinj & Pokljuka
In season, several loops for cross-country skiing run across the Bohinj valley. The most reliable conditions are usually found on Pokljuka, with more than 30 km of trails.
