“Years ago, I came to this place at the end of the Bohinj valley, in the middle of unspoilt nature and hidden from the outside world. Ukanc is surrounded by majestic mountains, lush forests and a crystal clear lake. You can experience the connection with nature here. The magic amazes you. It is so peaceful. You feel like you are in paradise. Even the most talented artists would struggle to depict this beauty. The murmuring sound of river and clean alpine air, in which you can detect the essence of fresh wood. And complete peace. All this makes the privilege of living in Bohinj. “This place fills me with joy as I feel privileged to be part of this beauty. My wish has always been to share the beauty of this paradise with others.
Therefore, the idea arose of building a resort that would allow visitors to admire and enjoy these beauties. Since my family, especially my uncle and father, was closely related to woodworking, I decided to build with local materials, especially wood and stone.
Each building of Privillage Stare was designed and built with local natural materials. The architecture guidance was to intertwine tradition, alpine nature, and comfort into a perfect combination.” says the owner Jože Stare.
The inspiration for the name Privillage Stare came from a combination of two words: Village and Privilege.
The Resort has holiday houses set up as a small village in the middle of nature. We would like to share the privilege of observing the beautiful and peaceful landscape of Ukanc.
Our resort has three buildings, each with its own name, design, and story. The main building of the estate, the traditional Country House offers B&B services. The Villa and Chalet are available for rent and are self-catered (apartment), with additional option of breakfast service served in the Country house.
Clean air, fresh drinking water and the unspoiled nature of the Triglav National Park – this is our fortune.
